Unfortunately not. The subscription plan is required in order to cover the 'always connected' network costs and additionally covers the network and cloud services required to support the alerting features.

On receipt of your device, you will receive a mail with a link to set up your device, your contacts, and your beacons (if any). You can also contact our customer services team, who will walk you through the setup and who can update the specifics of your alerting requirements if you need to change anything.

In the future we will introduce a companion mobile app that will allow you to manage the setup and preferences yourself.

You can set up the details of how each emergency contact will be notified with options of email, SMS and Voice Call. The communication options can differ by alert type, meaning that you can distinguish between high priority emergency and wander alerts and less urgent battery and not-worn alerts.

Once the notification is received, each emergency contact will receive a link to an online alert screen that can be monitored and viewed on a mobile device in order to track the alert details. They can close and add notes on an alert from this screen, as well as send messages to Wander Alert and Simple Alert watches.

Yes, the Wander Alert device comes with 4 beacons that can be placed around the house. While in the presence of the beacons, the watch will use the beacon details in order to help extend battery life and to get an accurate location. When an alert is raised, if the user is in the presence of a beacon, it will include the name assigned to the beacon, along with the alert details, so that you can know where the alert was raised, reducing the time to react.

The Wander Alert has a long battery life of 2+ days in typical network conditions where it is being used with a mix of indoor and outdoor usage.

It also features a fast simple recharge time of just 45 minutes.

Wander Alert includes four beacons, you place them spread around your home so that if you press the emergency alert button indoors we can tell your contacts where you are. Place each one preferably in a high, central position within a room, on a shelf or stuck to a wall, and spread them around rooms and floors. For maximum efficiency, avoid placing them behind metal objects, such as a TV. More beacons can be purchased if necessary, but you should not normally need even one per room.

Depending on beacon position, Wander Alert may "see" a beacon when outside your home (eg: in your garden), and therefore report you as inside if you alert.

Remember to note the number of each beacon and which room it is in as you will enter this information when configuring your product.
